Background

Admitted to the Bar of the Canton of Neuchâtel (2005), authorized to practice as an attorney-at-law all over Switzerland.

Bachelor's law degree, magna cum laude, Universities of Neuchâtel and Zurich (2003); Ph.D., summa cum laude, University of Neuchâtel (2010); Visiting Scholar Berkeley Center for Law and Technology (University of California Swiss National Science Foundation fellowship (2010-2011), Lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (2012), at the international institute of management in technology of the Fribourg University (since 2012) and at the Faculty of Law and Criminal Justice of the Lausanne University (since 2013); Independent blogger: ntdroit.wordpress.com (since 2010); several years practice in reputable Swiss law firms (Bise, Huguenin et Studer; id est avocats sàrl); joined BCCC in 2013 as head of Technology and Privacy practice group.



Practice areas

Special expertise in privacy and data protection. Familiar with data protection issues in various situations (privacy policies, transmission of data abroad, cloud computing, access requests, data retention, cooperation with law enforcement authorities, internal training). Personality rights and constitutional rights (right to be forgotten, right to its own image, reputation).

Solide experience with every kind of surveillance (official and private investigations, labor law, security measures, etc.).

Familiar with the world of advanced technologies (IT, media, telecoms, online presence, legislation pertaining to the Internet…).

Particular expertise in computer crime law and familiar with criminal law in general. Broad experience in proceedings and litigation before federal and cantonal Courts and for instance public law (administrative and criminal law).
